Die beiden Produktionen "Premiere" (1981) und "Paradiso" (1983) haben seinerzeit 70 Minuten Musikgeschichte geschrieben. Es gelingt der "Hexe auf den tausend Knöpfen" die als bierselig verschrieene Atmosphäre des Akkordeons mit einer gelungenen Mischung aus Jazz, Pop und sphärischen Klängen wegzuspielen und dem alten, Anfang der 80er Jahre für die moderne Musik totgeglaubten Instrument neues Leben einzuhauchen.

Quer durch Tango, Blues und Rock zeigt die Französin eindrucksvoll, dass in den Klangmöglichkeiten des Akkordeons mehr steckt, als manch einer geglaubt hätte, und dass sie im Zusammenspiel mit ihrer Band - den Auvrettes - ein wunderschönes Bild stimmungsvoller Musik malen kann.

Hier sind die bahnbrechenden ersten Produktionen, im Ton gründlich nachbearbeitet. Mit den Klassikern "Pic" (Hommage an den berühmten Roncalli-Clown, der die Musik für eine seiner Nummern verwandte), "Rumba Pa Ti", "Ca Va", "Tiko Tiko" u. a.

Even if there were a hundred accordion-players playing together, you would still be able to hear Lydie Auvray standing out. Her sound has verve and mellowness; her intelligent and impulsive playing can make one easily forget that this instrument, even in the Musette variant, has its limits. In Lydie's play those limits seem far away.
